The Costa del Sol is the most southerly point in Europe and enjoys a climate that allows golf to be played all year round. Temperatures in July and August make it preferable to play in the early morning when it can reach 36c or higher by mid afternoon. Even in December and January the temperatures of 16--18c combined with clear skies provide excellent conditions with sufficient daylight to make play possible until 6pm. On most courses it is advisable to use a buggy.

Designed by Seve Ballesteros this challenging course wraps itself around the undulating terrain and is one of the most spectacular in Europe. As well as the 18 hole course there is a nine-hole short course and also an 18-hole par three course. On the main Alhaurin Golf course the fairways are long and narrow with greens protected by a fierce array of bunkers, lakes and gardens, but the fact that there are up to six different teeing areas at each hole means that the course can be adapted to any level of skill.
